Description
              The blood-red lady beetle is common predator of aphids and psyllids that is widely distributed in the southern USA. It lacks the ability to hibernate, which limits its northerly range. It is most often found on trees and shrubs, but will forage on herbaceous plants that bear abundant aphids.
