European Corn Borer (Kansas Corn)

Thresholds

First generation control is suggested in non-corn borer BT cornfields where approximately 50 percent of the plants
are infested with an average of at least one live larva per plant. For second generation control, treat when field inspection reveals an average of
10 to 20 egg masses per 100 plants. Egg mass counts should include both hatched and unhatched egg masses.

*Several of these products are labeled for chemigation. Read and understand the entire chemigation section on the label before applying any product. In some cases, (Bacillus thuringiensis, chlorpyrifos 4E and microencapsulated methyl parathion) products have preformed better for second generation European corn borer control when chemigated than when applied by ground or aerial equipment.
