Description
Pink snow mold can attack wheat during cold, wet periods. or under snow cover. Initial leaf lesions are light brown with a dark brown border. Later, leaves become matted down and are bleached white as seen here. Close inspection usually reveals a pinkish-orange fungus on the dead leaves. Patches of pink snow mold range from a few inches across whole fields.
