Chemical selector

Crop type: Corn
Application type: Preplant or Preemergence

Pounds of active ingredient per acre
Pyroxasulfone + Fluthiacet-methyl + Atrazine 0.106 to 0.182 + 0.003 to 0.005 + 0.9 to 1.5
Product quantity per acre
1.75 to 3 pt Anthem ATZ Herbicide
Comments and limitations

Anthem ATZ (a restricted use herbicide) may be applied in the fall for residual weed control or from 45 days before planting to postemergence up to 4 visible collars to field corn, seed corn, sweetcorn, and popcorn for broadleaf and grass weed control. Apply Anthem ATZ at 1.75 to 2 pt on coarse soils, 2 to 2.5 pt on medium soils, and 2 to 3 pt on fine textured soils. If weeds are present at the time of application add COC or MSO at 1 to 2 pt/a or NIS at 0.25% V/V to enhance activity on emerged weeds. Anthem ATZ is compatible with liquid and dry fertilizers. Do not harvest all types of corn for forage within 60 days and for grain or fodder within 70 days of the final Anthem ATZ application. Do not harvest sweet corn forage or ears for human consumption within 45 days of Anthem ATZ application. The year after Anthem ATZ has been applied, rotation to soybean, cotton, or peanuts may occur depending on herbicide rate used, precipitation received, and timing of application. See label for details.

The Pesticide Selector includes suggestions for chemical control of pests in Kansas crops, which are provided by K-State Research and Extension, and may not be relevant for states other than Kansas. We will continue to expand this tool for help in selecting other types of agricultural chemicals, and for other states. Contact the myFields Team if you are interested in contributing content!
